The price of gas continues to climb in our area.  My local stations in Stephens City are at $3.39 9/10 (why not just say $3.40?).   Sheetz and Martin's in Stephens City are selling a gallon of regular for $3.37.

Front Royal has the cheapest area gas - $3.29 at Hess at Commerce and Prospect avenues and the one a North Shenandoah Avenue and West 17th Street.

Gas at Costco in Winchester is at $3.34 and looks to be the lowest price in Winchester.   Gas in Edinburg is $3.35 at both the Shell and Exxon stations, according to Gas Buddy.

Lowest gas price reported by Gas Buddy in Virginia is $3.08 at a Valero station in Weber City.  The most expensive gas reported is at an Exxon station in McClean at $3.89 a gallon of regular.

Last week when I noted the rise in gas prices, I mentioned that the 7-11 on Aylor Road was selling gas for $3.29 a gallon.  Today it's at $3.39.  Costco was selling gas at $3.24 a gallon last Monday and it's a dime higher today.

Nationwide, gas is averaging $3.383 a gallon of regular.  A week ago the average was $3.387.  A year ago the average was $3.113, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
