Regular gas was $3.49 a gallon in Stephens City this morning - up 4 cents from last Monday.
The cheapest area gas prices, as reported by Gas Buddy, are in Front Royal, where several stations are selling it for $3.44 or $3.45 a gallon (Up a dime from my report last week.)
The national average is $3.48 for regular gas, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report. A month ago: $3.36. A year ago: $3.124.
This is ridiculous! Evidently our Shenandoah Valley gas distributors have gotten very greedy! We've lived in the valley for 12 years and gasoline has always been at least 20 cents per gallon cheaper than the national average, and now it is more! Gasoline, especially in an area like ours, is essential to the working people! Now many working people are struggling to pay for gas and groceries and they wonder why there are so many foreclosures.
